About Greater Cleveland Volunteers
Since 1972 Greater Cleveland Volunteers has been engaging people in volunteer service to help address needs in our community. Our volunteers help at one-time, short-term, or ongoing assignments at local nonprofit organizations. Volunteers tutor and mentor children; provide job coaching to adults; provide food to those in need; comfort patients in hospitals, hospice care; assist visitors at arts and culture organizations, and much more!
Greater Cleveland Volunteers manages the Cuyahoga County chapter of the national RSVP program for adults age 55 and older. Through this program, RSVP volunteers give their time and talents to help address critical needs in the community.
We also manage the Cleveland area affiliate of the national AARP Foundation Experience Corps literacy tutoring program. This program provides volunteer tutors to help young students in the Cleveland and Euclid School districts improve their reading skills.
Through our Chat Pals program, volunteers provide friendship to older adults who live alone.
In addition, we are a partner in the Greater Cleveland Encore initiative to engage people age 50+ in giving back to the community.
Greater Cleveland Volunteers is proud of its history of service and is always looking for new volunteers who want to be a part of making our community a better place.
